The tenth Big Cartoon Festival will arrive in Voronezh



The tenth Big Cartoon Festival will take place in Voronezh from 15 to 18 April. This year, for the first time, given the situation with the pandemic, the forum will be organized in a mixed format: some of the programs can be watched online, the other will be held at the Spartak cinema.

The BFM will open on April 15 in “Spartacus” with a screening of a fantastic adventure film about a charming thief “Lupine III: The First Film” by Japanese director Takashi Yamazaki. The picture was made not in the traditional manner of anime, but in the technique of 3D computer animation with special effects, as in blockbusters.

– In the Premieres block, residents of Voronezh will see the best short-length animation from all over the world – winners and participants of major animation festivals. Together with the works of recognized masters, these selections will also show the brightest student films. Six programs of Russian cartoons and five foreign ones will fully present a cut of animation for 2020 from more than 20 countries of the world, – noted the organizers of the BFM.

In addition, at the festival, the cinema will show two programs of foreign cartoons for children and family audiences – Kitopad and Toby and Turbo Bus. They include cartoons created in various techniques, some have already won prizes at international festivals.

Three programs of modern Russian animation for children: “Bear and other animals”, “Orange song” and “In winter and summer” can be seen on the festival website on April 17 and 18.

In the online program on the BFM portal, you can also watch four full-length films: the beautiful fairy tale The Famous Bear Invasion of Sicily, drawn and filmed by one of the world’s most famous comic book authors Lorenzo Mattotti, and Tailless Pele by Christian Riltenius (about the world of cats) , “Valley of the Moomins. New stories ”by Steve Box about the new adventures of the mumiks.

The Big Cartoon Festival has been held annually since 2007.
