byocosplay is a small independent site where fans rate the people and places behind their hobby: commission makers, cosplay photographers, costume, wig and lens stores, conventions, comic shops, and the comic and manga series, creators and publishers they read.
Why exact names
Reviews only help when they are about someone specific. So every page here is one named maker, one store, one convention or one series — not a general category.
Where the facts come from
Each page starts from public, official information: the store’s own shipping and returns pages, a maker’s commission terms, a convention’s official site, a publisher’s catalogue, and reference sources such as Wikipedia for series and creators. We write the short descriptions ourselves and use software to help draft and check them; a person reviews what goes live.
Independence
We are not affiliated with any store, maker, convention, studio or publisher, and we do not take payment to add, rank or remove pages or reviews. The site is supported by advertising.
