About Blerds Underground
Blerds Underground opened in September 2022 on South LaGrange Road in La Grange, west of Chicago. Founders Mike Davis and Marcell Kirk describe themselves as Blerds, or Black nerds, and set out to make the comics industry more inclusive and accessible.
The shop sells new comics, back issues, manga and hardcover manga, books, action figures, apparel, collectible card games and comic supplies, both in store and through its online catalog.
It presents itself as family-friendly, with a selection meant to cover readers of all ages. Customers can contact the store by email or through its website.
