About Fan Expo Boston
Fan Expo Boston began in 2007 as Boston Comic Con, a one-day show at the Back Bay Events Center, and took the Fan Expo name in 2017 after Informa acquired it. Its comic-book roots are still visible, but the program now covers celebrities, gaming, anime and cosplay.
The 2027 edition is scheduled for December 3–5 at the Thomas Michael Menino Convention & Exhibition Center, and the organizer lists attendance at more than 60,000 fans.
The cosplay schedule includes a Masters of Cosplay qualifier. Under the Fan Expo HQ props policy, actual weapons are banned, metal prop weapons are generally not allowed and props may be inspected and tagged at the Prop Check Desk. Accessibility information is on a dedicated page.
