About Fan Expo New Orleans
Fan Expo New Orleans opens the Fan Expo HQ calendar each winter. The 2027 edition runs January 8–10 at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center, and the organizer lists attendance at more than 30,000 fans.
Like its sister shows, it combines celebrity autographs and photo ops with comics, anime, gaming and sci-fi programming. Cosplayers can apply for the Cosplay Craftsmanship Cup, which focuses on build quality and detail, or for the Cosplay Showcase.
The props policy bans actual weapons and generally rules out metal or wooden prop weapons. Security may send any prop to the Prop Check Desk, where approved items get a visible tag. Attendees with accessibility needs can use the Accessibility Services Desk, which handles ticket purchase and pickup in a separate queue.
