Mellow Blue Planet

Mellow Blue Planet opened in Rock Island in October 2000 as a specialty store for archival-safe protection of collectibles such as books, records, trading cards and sports memorabilia. Over time it has focused more on comic books, new and old, while still selling storage supplies.

The store stocks new releases and back issues from the Golden, Silver, Bronze, Copper and Modern Ages, restocked regularly, along with action figures, statues and comic and movie posters.

Hours are fixed on Wednesdays and Saturdays; on other weekdays they vary, so the shop asks visitors to call ahead. It is closed Sundays and Mondays and marked its 26th anniversary with an in-store event in October 2026.
