About DerpyCon
DerpyCon is a New Jersey anime and pop culture convention held since 2014 and run by the Society of the Preservation of Pop Culture, Inc., a tax-exempt educational non-profit. The 2026 edition takes place October 30–November 1 at the Hyatt Regency New Brunswick on Albany Street.
Weekend memberships for 2026 rose from $35 early on to $75 in October, with single-day trial memberships from $30 to $55. The Masquerade is the convention's biggest event, and a Hall Cosplay Competition is judged on Friday and Saturday for all skill levels.
The prop policy bans live steel, metal armor, projectile weapons, real bows, paddles and nunchaku. Wooden weapons are allowed if handled responsibly, and props must stay under 6 feet 6 inches and 50 pounds.
