About Youmacon
Youmacon is Detroit's anime convention, held around Halloween at Huntington Place downtown. It began in 2005 and is run by Renaissance Conventions LLC. The 2026 edition runs October 29 to November 1.
Early-bird 2026 prices were $80 for a weekend badge, $35 to $60 for a single day and $250 for a Platinum badge, plus service fees.
All cosplay props are checked by security at a Prop Check table before they can be carried around the halls. Live steel, real guns, nerf guns and airsoft are not allowed, and mock fights or sword play inside the center are banned. The cosplay program includes a Masquerade and international contest qualifiers, with cash prizes and free admission the next year for Best in Show.
