About JAFAX
JAFAX is a Michigan anime and Japanese culture convention that dates to 1996. It is held at DeVos Place in downtown Grand Rapids, and the 2027 edition runs June 25–27 with panels, vendors, gaming and cosplay across all three days.
The early-bird three-day badge is $55, increasing to $65 at the door.
Real weapons are not allowed, which covers live steel, guns, knives, projectiles and overly heavy objects. Every prop must go through prop check and be peace-bonded. The Cosplay Contest is open to costumes from any series and judges craftsmanship by skill level during set slots on Saturday, and a separate Kids Cosplay Contest is held for younger fans.
