Nekocon

Nekocon was founded in 1998 and calls itself Virginia's longest-running anime convention. It is held at the Hampton Roads Convention Center in Hampton, traditionally on the first full weekend of November, and the 2026 edition runs November 6–8 under the theme The Rise of Purrzilla.

Each year has its own theme that shapes decorations, events and guest appearances. The program covers anime, manga, gaming and wider pop culture, with an AMV contest and a Club Row for fan groups and community organizations.

Cosplayers can enter the formal Masquerade, the From Scratch Craftsmanship Contest or the Purr-Formance skit competition. Badges must be worn visibly at all times inside the convention center.
