Tidewater Comicon

Tidewater Comicon started as a one-day hotel show, funded partly by its founder selling off his own comic collection, and moved to the Virginia Beach Convention Center after outgrowing that first space. A Kickstarter-backed 2016 edition drew its largest crowd at the time, about 23,000 fans. The latest show ran May 16–17, 2026, and dates for the next edition had not been posted when checked.

Programming covers comics, gaming, panels, a Kids Love Comics area and K-pop, along with celebrity guests and pro photo ops.

Prop weapons are allowed, but there is a prop check before entering: airsoft guns and sharp swords or knives are not permitted, and props that fail the check must go back to your vehicle. The show also runs a cosplay contest.
