About GalaxyCon Richmond
GalaxyCon Richmond is a four-day pop-culture festival run by GalaxyCon, LLC, the Florida-based organizer behind a chain of fan conventions. It is held at the Greater Richmond Convention Center on North Third Street, and the 2027 dates are March 18–21.
Doors open at 2 p.m. on Thursday, and event hours stretch to 1 a.m. on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, closing at 8 p.m. on Sunday. The lineup mixes comic books, sci-fi, fantasy, anime, gaming and cosplay, and the costume and cosplay contests pay out more than $4,000 in cash prizes.
Under the GalaxyCon props policy, guns, knives and hard bladed weapons are not allowed, while lightsabers and props that look clearly made for the screen are fine. Each prop is judged case by case, and an accessibility page covers attendee services.
