About One Stop Comics

One Stop Comics is a 3,200-square-foot comic shop on Madison Street in Oak Park, about 30 minutes from both O'Hare and Midway. Owner Rick Manzella stocks a full range of Marvel, DC and independent comics; new issues stay on the racks for at least six months, and older issues are listed on the store website.

The shop runs a subscription service and is an authorized CGC submission center for customers who want books graded. Trade paperbacks are a big part of the mix; the owner has written about stocking thousands of trades to reach readers who do not buy single issues.

One Stop sets up large displays at C2E2 and Wizard World Chicago and holds a Labor Day sale. It has run a month-long Free Comic Book Day giveaway with a free comic per purchase. The store is closed on Tuesdays.
