About AnimeIowa
AnimeIowa has been held since 1997 and is run as a not-for-profit project of the Mindbridge Foundation. The Friday-to-Sunday convention takes place at the Hyatt Regency Coralville Hotel & Conference Center, and the 2027 edition is July 30 to August 1.
At the 2026 show, a three-day badge for ages 13 and up cost $65 at the door and a child badge for ages 6–12 was $15. Sponsor badges add perks such as reserved Masquerade seating.
Real firearms and working projectile weapons are banned. Bladed weapons and realistic-looking firearms must stay sheathed or holstered and be peace-marked, and anything that cannot be peace-marked is refused. The Mainstage Cosplay Masquerade is the main costume event, and accessibility passes are issued on site to attendees with mobility problems.
