About GalaxyCon Des Moines
GalaxyCon Des Moines brings the GalaxyCon fan-festival format to Iowa. The three-day event is held at the Iowa Events Center on 3rd Street, and the 2027 edition is set for September 10–12, with tickets on sale.
Friday opens at 2 p.m. and evening programming runs until 1 a.m. on Friday and Saturday. Expect celebrity autographs and photo ops, voice actors, comic creators, wrestlers and cosplay guests, plus costume and cosplay contests with more than $4,000 in cash prizes.
Weapons are not tolerated: guns, knives and bladed props made of hard material are banned. Lightsabers, foam or cardboard swords and props that look made for a movie rather than real combat are allowed, with each case decided by staff. Accessibility details are on a dedicated page for the Des Moines show.
