About Des Moines Con
Des Moines Con is a three-day comic and pop-culture convention at the Iowa Events Center in Des Moines, produced by Nerd Street Events. The 2027 edition runs May 21–23. It bills itself as a celebration of comics, toys, TV, film, art, cosplay, anime and games, and is a separate event from the GalaxyCon show held at the same venue in September.
Kids' tickets cost $10 and are valid all weekend, and the organizer regularly offers discount codes that make them free; adult and VIP passes are sold through the official ticket page.
Costume weapons must be light, such as cardboard or foam. Functional or realistic guns, props made of metal, wood or glass, metal-bladed weapons, whips and blunt weapons like bats are not allowed. The cosplay page covers the costume contests and other cosplay events.
