About AniMinneapolis
AniMinneapolis is a three-day spring anime convention organized by AnimeCon.org and held at the Hyatt Regency Minneapolis on Nicollet Mall. The 2027 edition is May 7–9. Its first year drew about 1,200 people and attendance has since grown into the thousands.
The full three-day ticket starts at $40 and rises in steps as the show approaches; a single day is $40, Sunday alone $25, and a Platinum badge with VIP perks is $110. The hotel block rate is $135 a night for a two-bed room.
The Grand Cosplay Contest is held on Saturday afternoon, and staff also hand out random hallway prizes for standout costumes. Swords must be tied shut in their sheath or be made of wood or plastic, and they may be used for still poses but never swung.
