About Dragon Con
Dragon Con has been held in Atlanta since 1987 and runs for five days over Labor Day weekend. Instead of one convention center it spreads across several downtown host hotels, including the Hyatt Regency, Marriott Marquis and Hilton, plus AmericasMart. The 2027 dates are September 2–6.
Memberships use tiered pricing that climbs closer to the show. The 5-day 2027 membership rose to $125 on September 22, 2026, and every order carries a $7 processing fee. Single-day memberships are limited and go on sale August 1, 2027.
All weapons must be non-working and peace bonded, bladed props must stay cased or sheathed, and real firearms are banned even for permit holders. The contest program is long, running from the Masquerade Costume Contest to Star Wars, video-game and anime costume contests with cash prizes.
