About Kami-Con
Kami-Con is an Alabama anime convention that started in 2009. It is held in the East Exhibition Halls of the Birmingham-Jefferson Convention Complex, with the Sheraton and Westin as on-site partner hotels. The 2027 edition is February 12–14.
A three-day pass is $65 plus fees in pre-registration and $75 at the door; Friday alone is $55 and Saturday $65.
Prop weapons are allowed as part of a costume, but there is no live steel, which here covers bladed metal weapons as well as metal guns, bats and other metal props. Airsoft guns are banned even if modified, prop firearms need a bright orange tip and cannot fire anything, and peace-bound real blades are not accepted. The Craftsmanship Cosplay Contest awards trophies plus $100 to $200 by skill level.
