About Aka Akasaka

Aka Akasaka is a Japanese manga artist and writer known for Kaguya-sama: Love Is War and Oshi no Ko. Kaguya-sama began in Shueisha's Miracle Jump in May 2015 and moved to Weekly Young Jump in March 2016. It won the general category of the 65th Shogakukan Manga Award in 2020.

From April 2020 Akasaka also wrote Oshi no Ko for Weekly Young Jump, with art by Mengo Yokoyari, so he had two series running in the magazine at once. Oshi no Ko won the print category of the Next Manga Award in 2021.

After Kaguya-sama ended, Akasaka announced in November 2022 that he would stop drawing and focus on writing. In April 2023 he launched Renai Daikō, illustrated by Nishizawa 5mm.
