About CLAMP
CLAMP is an all-female Japanese manga artist group led by writer Nanase Ohkawa, with artists Mokona, Tsubaki Nekoi and Satsuki Igarashi, whose roles shift from series to series.
The group began in the mid-1980s as a twelve-member dōjinshi circle and started creating original manga in 1987. It made its mainstream debut with RG Veda in 1989, and the current four-member lineup took shape in 1993.
Notable works include X (1992), Magic Knight Rayearth (1993), Cardcaptor Sakura (1996) and its sequel Clear Card (2016), Chobits (2000), and xxxHolic and Tsubasa: Reservoir Chronicle (both 2003). Characters often reappear across the group's series. As of 2007 CLAMP had sold nearly 100 million books worldwide, and Cardcaptor Sakura won the Seiun Award for best manga in 2001.
