About Alan Moore
Alan Moore is an English author known primarily for comics, including Watchmen, V for Vendetta, The Ballad of Halo Jones, Swamp Thing, Batman: The Killing Joke, Superman: Whatever Happened to the Man of Tomorrow? and From Hell.
He began writing for British underground and alternative fanzines in the late 1970s, then published strips in 2000 AD and Warrior, where Marvelman and V for Vendetta debuted in 1982. DC Comics then brought him to American comics, where he developed Swamp Thing and wrote Watchmen.
His work has been adapted into films such as From Hell, V for Vendetta and Watchmen, and some reprints credit him as The Original Writer at his request. Honors include an Inkpot Award in 1985, a near clean sweep of the 1986 Eagle Awards, and the National Comics Award for Best Comics Writer Ever in 2001, 2002 and 2003.
