About Frank Miller

Frank Miller is an American comic book creator, screenwriter and director. He wrote Daredevil from 1979 to 1983 and returned in 1986 for the Born Again arc, creating Elektra and the Hand along the way. His Batman stories The Dark Knight Returns (1986) and Batman: Year One (1987) followed.

His creator-owned work includes Ronin (1983–1984), Sin City (1991–1992) and 300 (1998). He has described Sin City as a deliberate hybrid of American and Japanese comics. His first published comics work appeared in 1978.

In film he wrote RoboCop 2 and RoboCop 3, co-directed Sin City and its sequel with Robert Rodriguez and directed The Spirit. He was inducted into the Eisner Awards Hall of Fame in 2015, and Simon & Schuster published his book Push the Wall in July 2026.
