About The Department of Truth
The Department of Truth is a mystery and science fiction series written by James Tynion IV and drawn by Martin Simmonds. It follows FBI special agent Cole Turner as he digs into the secrets behind conspiracy theories and joins an agency working to stop them before enough people believe them for the theories to become real.
Image Comics launched it in September 2020 on a monthly schedule, and it continues today. Six trade paperbacks have been released, the latest in November 2025.
Tynion won the Eisner Award for Best Writer in 2021, 2022 and 2023, years in which the series was also nominated for Best Continuing Series. The production company Sister bought the screen rights in 2021.
