About The Wicked + The Divine
The Wicked + The Divine is a contemporary dark fantasy written by Kieron Gillen and drawn by Jamie McKelvie, with colors by Matt Wilson. Every 90 years, twelve people discover they are reincarnated deities, the Pantheon, on the condition that they die within two years. The story follows a teenage girl, Laura, as she gets drawn into their world, and the gods are styled after pop idols.
Image Comics published the series from June 2014 to September 2019, running 45 main issues and six specials. It is collected in nine trade paperbacks, plus hardcovers and a 2025 compendium.
It won Best Comic at the 2014 British Comic Awards. A 2015 TV option has since returned to the creators.
