Criminal

Criminal is a crime series written by Ed Brubaker and drawn by Sean Phillips. Each story arc is self-contained and centers on different characters, but they share a world: they grew up in the fictional Center City, drink at the same bar and carry two generations of shared criminal history.

It launched under Marvel's Icon imprint in October 2006 and moved to Image Comics for later stories and reprints. It is collected in ten numbered volumes, with the original graphic novels The Knives in 2025 and Five Gears in Reverse in 2026. It won the 2007 Eisner Award for Best New Series.

Amazon gave a TV adaptation a series order in January 2024, with Brubaker as showrunner.
