About Chew
Chew is an action comedy written by John Layman and drawn by Rob Guillory. Tony Chu is a cibopath, a detective who solves crimes by getting psychic impressions from anything he eats, working as an FDA agent in a world where chicken and other bird meat has been outlawed after a deadly bird flu outbreak.
Image Comics published the series from June 2009 until it ended with issue #60 in November 2016. It is collected in twelve numbered trade paperbacks, and a spin-off, Chu, followed in 2021 and 2022.
Chew won the Eisner Award for Best New Series in 2010 and Best Continuing Series in 2011. An animated adaptation started in 2014 was never finished, and a tabletop RPG came out in 2024.
