About Marvels
Marvels is a four-issue limited series written by Kurt Busiek and painted by Alex Ross. Covering the years 1939 to 1974, it looks at the Marvel Universe from the point of view of an everyman, news photographer Phil Sheldon.
Marvel Comics published the issues with cover dates from January to April 1994, followed by an issue #0 in August. A trade paperback came out in 1995 and a 10th anniversary hardcover in 2004. Busiek returned for the sequel Marvels: Eye of the Camera in 2008.
At the 1994 Eisner Awards it won Best Finite/Limited Series, and Ross won Best Painter and Best Cover Artist.
