About Rat Queens
Rat Queens is a comic fantasy series created by writer Kurtis J. Wiebe and artist Roc Upchurch. The title characters are a rambunctious party of adventurers in a medieval fantasy setting, and the first arc has them fending off assassins and rival adventuring groups in their home town of Palisade.
Image Comics began publishing it in September 2013, with a hiatus from 2016 to 2017 before a second volume. The regular series ran 41 issues, and a graphic novel finale, Sisters, Warriors, Queens, came out in September 2023 with Upchurch back on art. The run is collected in eight trade paperbacks and three deluxe hardcovers.
An animated series announced in 2014 has not appeared.
