About Persepolis
Persepolis is an autobiographical graphic memoir written and drawn by Marjane Satrapi. It depicts her childhood and early adult years in Iran and Austria during and after the Iranian Revolution.
The French publisher L'Association released it in four volumes, one a year, between 2000 and 2003. In North America, Pantheon Books published it in two volumes, The Story of a Childhood in 2003 and The Story of a Return in 2004, later combined as The Complete Persepolis in 2007.
Satrapi co-directed an animated film adaptation with Vincent Paronnaud in 2007. It won the Jury Prize at Cannes and was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature.
