About The Walking Dead
The Walking Dead is a zombie apocalypse comic created by Robert Kirkman and Tony Moore. It centers on Rick Grimes, a Kentucky deputy who is shot on duty and wakes from a coma into a world overrun by the dead. Moore drew the first six issues and Charlie Adlard drew the rest. Apart from a few specials it was printed in black and white, with colorized reprints starting in 2020.
Image Comics published the first issue in October 2003. Kirkman ended the series with issue #193 in July 2019 with no advance announcement. The full story fills 32 trade paperbacks, from Days Gone Bye to Rest in Peace.
AMC's TV series, which loosely follows the comic, ran from 2010 to 2022.
