About Kingdom Come

Kingdom Come is a four-issue superhero miniseries written by Mark Waid and painted in gouache by Alex Ross, who also developed the concept. Set in an alternate future of the DC Universe, it pits the old guard of heroes against a new generation that has lost its moral compass, while the Spectre recruits a minister, Norman McCay, to help judge what happens.

DC Comics published it under its Elseworlds imprint from May to August 1996 and collected it in a trade paperback in 1997, with an Absolute hardcover in 2006.

Elliot S. Maggin wrote a novelization, and Random House Audio released a full-cast audio adaptation by Dirk Maggs in November 2025.
