DC Comics

DC Comics is one of the oldest American comic book companies. Its roots go back to National Allied Publications in 1935, and the DC initials come from Detective Comics, first published in 1937. Its stories mostly take place in the DC Universe, home to Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, the Flash and the Justice League.

After decades under Warner companies, DC became part of Skydance Products & Publishing in 2026 following Paramount Skydance's acquisition of Warner Bros. Discovery. Its offices are at 4000 Warner Boulevard in Burbank. Current imprints include DC Black Label, Vertigo Comics, the Absolute Universe line and Mad.
