About Drawn & Quarterly

Drawn & Quarterly, or D+Q, is a Montreal publishing house founded by Chris Oliveros in 1990. It publishes comic books, graphic novels and comic strip collections, and its name puns on drawing, quarterly and the old punishment of hanging, drawing and quartering.

It started out with underground and alternative comics, then added classic reprints and translations. Its authors include Lynda Barry, Kate Beaton, Chester Brown, Daniel Clowes, Adrian Tomine and Chris Ware, as well as manga artists Shigeru Mizuki and Yoshihiro Tatsumi. Since 2006 it has collected Tove Jansson's Moomin strips in book form.
