About Webtoon
Webtoon is a digital comics platform that Naver launched in South Korea in 2004. It hosts webtoons, vertical-scroll comics designed for phones, and is free to read on the web at webtoons.com and in apps for Android and iOS.
The service first ran as Naver Webtoon at home and went global as Line Webtoon in July 2014, dropping the Line name in English in 2019, when Spanish and French versions also launched. It is controlled by Naver and LY Corporation through Webtoon Entertainment Inc., a holding company headquartered in Los Angeles.
