About Transmetropolitan

Transmetropolitan is a cyberpunk science fiction series written by Warren Ellis and drawn by Darick Robertson. It chronicles the battles of Spider Jerusalem, an infamous renegade gonzo journalist of the future, after he is forced back down into the City.

The comic launched in July 1997 under DC's Helix imprint and moved to Vertigo with issue #13 after Helix was discontinued. It ended in September 2002 after 60 monthly issues and is reprinted in ten trade paperbacks, with Absolute and Book editions also available.

Patrick Stewart's production company offered to option it in 2003 and an animated project was discussed, but no adaptation was made, and Ellis has said a film is unlikely.
