About The Sandman

The Sandman is a dark fantasy series written by Neil Gaiman and co-created with artists Sam Kieth and Mike Dringenberg, with covers by Dave McKean. Its central character is Dream, also called Morpheus, one of the seven Endless. The series opens with him trapped by an occult ritual meant to capture his sibling Death and held prisoner for 70 years.

DC Comics published it from January 1989 to March 1996, moving it to Vertigo in 1993. The 75 issues are collected in ten trade paperbacks, and the prequel Overture followed in 2013–2015.

Audible released a full-cast audio drama starting in 2020, and Netflix's series ran two seasons, ending in 2025.
