About Animazement
Animazement is an all-volunteer, fan-run anime convention in downtown Raleigh that has run since 1998. It is held over Memorial Day weekend at the Raleigh Convention Center. Its parent organization is Educational Growth Across Oceans, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. The 2027 edition is May 28–30.
At-the-door prices are $75 for an adult full weekend and $60 for a child, with single-day badges from $50; a single-day badge expires when the center closes that night.
Live steel, meaning any metal object that has or can take an edge, is banned, along with metal armor and heavy metal objects; weapons bought in the Dealers Room must go straight to a room or car. Cosplay events include the Saturday-night Masquerade, Cosplay Chess and the Project Cosplay design challenge. Medically necessary mobility aids do not need a prop check.
