About GalaxyCon Raleigh

GalaxyCon Raleigh is the summer flagship of GalaxyCon, a Fort Lauderdale company founded in 2006 that runs fan conventions around the US. The 2027 edition is a four-day festival from July 29 to August 1, using both the Atlantic Union Bank Convention Center downtown and the N.C. State Fairgrounds. A separate winter edition is held at the convention center in January.

Programming runs late, with event hours until 1 a.m. Thursday to Saturday, while the exhibit hall closes at 8 p.m. Guests span celebrities, voice actors, comic creators, wrestlers and cosplayers, and the costume and cosplay contests offer more than $4,000 in cash plus medals and trophies.

GalaxyCon states zero tolerance for weapons: no guns, no knives and no hard bladed props, though lightsabers, foam swords and clearly cartoonish props are allowed.
