About Batman: The Long Halloween

Batman: The Long Halloween is a 13-issue limited series written by Jeph Loeb and drawn by Tim Sale, with colors by Gregory Wright. Set in Batman's early days, it has him working with Gotham's district attorney to unmask Holiday, a killer who murders one person each month on a holiday.

DC Comics published it monthly from December 1996 to July 1997, then collected it in a trade paperback in January 1998 and a hardcover in 1999. Dark Victory and Catwoman: When in Rome continue the story, and the 10-issue sequel The Last Halloween began in September 2024.

A two-part animated film adaptation was released in June and July 2021.
