About Cartoon Crossroads Columbus
Cartoon Crossroads Columbus, known as CXC, is a free festival celebrating comics, animation and cartoon arts. It was founded in 2015 by cartoonist Jeff Smith, curator Lucy Shelton Caswell and Vijaya Iyer, building on the triennial Cartoon Arts Festival that Caswell had organized at the Billy Ireland Cartoon Library & Museum.
The festival moves to spring for 2027, running April 15–18. Programming is spread across Columbus venues, including the Billy Ireland for creator talks, the Wexner Center for the Arts for animation and the Gateway Film Center for shorts, with an exhibitor expo for cartoonists.
Exhibitor applications for 2027 go first to the newsletter list. CXC also runs workshops and community programs in Columbus throughout the year.
