About Colossalcon
Colossalcon began in 2002 as the Cleveland Colossal Convention in Strongsville, Ohio, and has grown into a series of resort-based events. Its flagship, Colossalcon Prime, is held at Kalahari Resorts & Conventions in Sandusky, where cosplayers share the space with an indoor waterpark. Colossalcon Prime 2027 runs June 2–6.
The hotel block requires a minimum four-night stay. Sister events run in Texas, Virginia and other locations under the same brand.
Metal or steel props have to be blunted with no sharpened points or edges, firearm props must be clearly non-functional with an orange tip, and arrows must be foam-tipped. Weapons bought in the dealer room stay boxed until taken to a room or car. Cosplay contests include craftsmanship judging and the Colossalcon Cup circuit.
