About San Diego Comic-Con
San Diego Comic-Con has run since 1970 and is organized by the nonprofit San Diego Comic Convention, also known as Comic-Con International. The 2027 show is set for July 22–25 at the San Diego Convention Center, with a Preview Night on July 21.
Badges are not sold at the door: attendees need a Member ID and must buy during one of the fall badge sales, with the 2027 Open Registration sale on November 14, 2026. Single-day adult badges for 2027 cost $88 for Thursday to Saturday and $67 for Sunday or Preview Night, plus a $15 handling fee; children 12 and under get in free with a paying adult.
Costume props are checked and tagged every day at Costume Props Desks, and functional or sharp-edged props and weapons are banned. The Saturday-night Masquerade costume competition has been part of the show since 1974.
