About Tokyopop
Tokyopop, once called Mixx Entertainment, is an American distributor, licensor and publisher of anime, manga, manhwa and Western manga-style comics. Stuart J. Levy founded it in 1997, and its US headquarters sits near Los Angeles International Airport.
Its US division publishes in English, while the German company Tokyopop GmbH translates Japanese titles and releases original German manga. Both were spun off into the independent TOKYOPOP Inc. in December 2022.
English books appear under the Tokyopop name and the Blu Manga and Love x Love imprints.
