About Death Note

Death Note follows Light Yagami, a high school student who finds a notebook dropped by the shinigami Ryuk: any name written in it means death. As the vigilante Kira, Light starts killing people he judges immoral, and the detective L leads the effort to catch him.

Tsugumi Ohba wrote and Takeshi Obata illustrated the series for Weekly Shōnen Jump from December 2003 to May 2006. It is complete in 12 volumes and published in English by Viz Media.

Madhouse's 37-episode anime aired from 2006 to 2007, and the story has also been adapted into many live-action films and a TV drama.
