About Hunter x Hunter

Hunter x Hunter follows Gon Freecss, a boy who learns that his absent father is a famous Hunter, a licensed professional who tracks rare animals, treasure or criminals. Gon leaves Whale Island to become a Hunter and find him.

Yoshihiro Togashi has serialized it in Shueisha's Weekly Shōnen Jump since March 1998, though the manga has gone on frequent, extended hiatuses since 2006. There are 39 volumes as of July 2026, published in English by Viz Media.

It was adapted twice for TV: a 62-episode Nippon Animation series starting in 1999 and a second series from 2011 to 2014.
