About Fullmetal Alchemist

Fullmetal Alchemist follows brothers Edward and Alphonse Elric, who search for the philosopher's stone to restore their bodies after a failed attempt to bring their mother back with alchemy. The setting draws on Europe's Industrial Revolution.

Hiromu Arakawa's manga ran in Monthly Shōnen Gangan, first under Enix and then Square Enix, from July 2001 to June 2010. It is complete in 27 volumes. Viz Media publishes it in English, and Yen Press handles a digital release.

Bones produced two anime series, in 2003 and in 2009 (Brotherhood). The manga won the 49th Shogakukan Manga Award in 2004.
