Uzumaki

Uzumaki is set in Kurouzu-chō, a small town cursed by spirals. The idea started when Junji Ito tried to write a story about people living in a very long terraced house.

It ran in Shogakukan's weekly seinen magazine Big Comic Spirits from 1998 to 1999 and was collected in three volumes, with omnibus editions in 2000 and 2010. Viz Media first serialized it in English in its Pulp magazine, published the volumes from 2001, and released a hardcover omnibus in October 2013.

A four-episode anime adaptation aired from September to October 2024.
