About Fruits Basket

Fruits Basket follows Tohru Honda, an orphan who learns that 13 members of the Sohma family are possessed by the animals of the Chinese zodiac and turn into them when weak, stressed or hugged by someone of the opposite gender.

Natsuki Takaya serialized it in Hakusensha's semi-monthly shōjo magazine Hana to Yume from 1998 to 2006. It is complete in 23 volumes. Yen Press publishes the current English edition, including a Collector's Edition; Tokyopop released it first.

It was adapted into an anime in 2001, and a new anime TV series began in 2019.
