About Nana

Nana centers on Nana Osaki and Nana Komatsu, two 20-year-olds who move to Tokyo. One chases fame in music and the other chases romance, while both try to keep their friendship intact.

Ai Yazawa first published a two-part prologue in Shueisha's shōjo magazine Cookie in 1999, then serialized the series there from May 2000 to May 2009, when it went on indefinite hiatus. It has 21 volumes, published in English by Viz Media, which also ran it in Shojo Beat magazine.

Madhouse produced a 47-episode anime that aired from 2006 to 2007, and two live-action films came out in 2005 and 2006. The manga won the 48th Shogakukan Manga Award (shōjo) in 2003.
